alright, so i see you're getting better at your melodies and making them less repetitive. a little advice tho; instead of having 4-bar loops, try extending your melodies to 8-bars or 16-bars, they'll provide for more variation to the ears. you're also finding your own leitmotifs and style too so that's nice!
as mentioned before, i didn't really feel a bassline in there. maybe instead of using a sub bass, use like an actual bass? there's gotta be a preset in lmms like that right? i think your mixing at the top to middle frequencies is actually pretty decent already, you still need to work on the bottom tho!
for your risers, i wouldn't recommend having the synth play ascending notes one by one if you know what i mean. if i'm not mistaken there should be a slide/pitch bend mechanism in lmms. use that, and your risers will be more smooth! (note that you could actually use that on the lead, bass, or on anything that you deem fitting)
your drums are getting better too; maybe if you added some hi-hats/percs/anything that occupies the higher frequencies on top of those snares and kicks, that would make your drum game even better!
well that's it from me. keep going and you'll be on your way to getting scouted on these parts!
Thanks for reviewing!
Adding a melody going for 8-bars would be much better than doing a 4-bar melody. To be honest, that would've been a great idea.
I've actually added three basses. Maybe it's sub-bass I'm missing. Or I'm just missing more normal bass.
Not gonna lie, I did rush the build up a bit. I should add a riser.
Some hihats in the drums section would be nice. I don't think percs would be too great though. I tried experimenting with percs in before I released this song but it didn't sound very nice.
Thanks a lot for reviewing and I'll see you sometime soon! :D
runescape is that you?
bruh xD
just listened to it's entirety and it was surreal as shit
sucks that flash will be kil bro
ayyy i can definitely notice improvement in quality!
ur doing better on the drums, they're sounding a bit punchier. a cool thing to do would be to try "sidechaining" stuff to the kick, preferably sounds that are bass-y. (it's subjective so use ur ears) very nice of you to use mouse clicking as a percussion, a bit of eq could make it blend more with the snare, but i think it's good as it is. the drop was pretty empty, you should a new melody on top of the piano playing. (or maybe some sfx to keep it interesting, up to you what is it)
oh yeah one thing i didn't mentioned at my last review (i think so?) is that i recommend you to add some bassline to your song. it really fills up your song and makes it sound fuller, especially if ur listening to it on good speakers/headphones/earphones/etc. don't forget to eq the other sounds to make sure it doesn't clash with the bassline tho!
that's it from me. keep experimenting and keep grinding!
Sorry I'm replying a little late, I had a live lesson.
I tried sidechaining in my previous songs but not in my recent submissions on NG. Adding a sidechain would be pretty cool.
I should add a new melody or some sound effects on the drop because I'm not gonna lie, that part was quite boring.
Adding a bassline would be pretty important. Personally, I think some sub-bass would be a nice effect.
Thanks for reviewing! :^)
