jesus

i'm such a sucker for this LMAO jazz chords absolutely fucking carries

man, i will have to say, that your time and efforts weren't in vain, for this is really beautiful, even going as far as to tug with my feelings a little bit near the end. (gawh damn who's cutting the onions here??) some things i would like to note are;

-the beginning! really strong and wild beginning, (and ending since they're both pretty similar) reminded me of final fantasy tactics advance 2 which has such an absolutely STUNNING orchestral soundtrack for the console it is in. i do feel like the chord choices and what not at the fill section during the 30 second mark feels a bit off and random. that's only plays like twice in this song so no biggie, but i would check up on that.

the fill at 1:15 also puts me off a little bit since it feels like some of that energy was lost from how slow it was. maybe a few added ghost notes wouldn't hurt.

-the dance switch up near the end of the second minute is a nice one, feels a bit empty in the percussion department tho, maybe add some slap percussions panned left and right to give it more fullness. also layering some plucked instruments into the mix would reallyyyy benefit that part.

-the breakdown section near the end of the fourth minute. need i say more? that is my favorite part next to the beginning since it got a visible reaction out of me. the chord progression there really goes.

i haven't dabbled in orchestral too much to know what goes, but this is really soliddddd. time well spent.

p.s. the sped up tempo at the end is okay! i didn't even noticed it at first so it flows naturally dw about that. also don't be afraid to overshare!!!! it's nice to know the thought processes that goes on in these types of songs.

Thank you for this Review! And thank you so much <3 The weird chord progression I think you are referring to is a chromatic rise in the melody I think. And it is a bit odd, but I cant hear it being anything else. It could be the chord stabs, but I personally dont know how I would change it. But it's important feedback as I may revisit this piece in my composition studies.

Not sure what you mean at 1:15 but I'll get some second opinions on it.

Thank you so much. The fanfare section at the end of the four minute mark is by far one of my favorite things ive ever created. And I have no idea what I did theory/harmonization wise. I really just, had a thing in my head, and picked the notes. I should analyze that bit, or have someone analyze it for me to figure it out. It really is a bit of magic.

Thank you so much!

you know, upon hearing this composition and instrumentation, and then checking your profile; my guesses were right to say that you're a VGM musician of the sorts! this is very mega man pilled, and you know how much we love our mega man oh yes we do. i reallyyyy love the melodies and chord progression in here, absolutely infectious.

as for the audio mixing in this, it's not bad! i think the main problem isn't how it's mixed per se, but rather in the emptiness from the lack of added instruments to fill in said space. the chorus especially, would really benefit with a few extra layer of instruments on top of it, like another guitar section playing at the left ear, (if you notice a lot of rock songs would do that thing where they record two guitar sections and pan them left and right to give a sense of fullness, might be with the same chords or different ones depending on the composition) a huge e-piano that plays the chord progression, strings or of the such. play around and see what feels good to you!

that being said, the sub-bass in your slap bass is too quiet and this song would sound a lot more fuller if you give some attention to it. stereorisation on your sounds is a factor too, some of them like the sax and the saw lead seems to be in mono, which narrows the sound even further. dimension expander is a favorite of mine to stereoise without any issues. (or ozone imager, that's pretty cool too) i would also add some reverb to the instruments that don't have any like the saw lead, it's very dry. (not too much tho maybe just a teensy little and it'll be all good)

overall, good job!!!!!! this song is pretty swag, but i think it'd even be more swag with those extra little details in mind :D
